Road workers in Tibet come in all shapes and sizes, and labor in incredibly difficult jobs under exhausting conditions. Yet most remain exceedingly cheerful. I passed by men and women, Chinese and Tibetans, old and young. All were friendly and all of them asked me where my bicycle was.
