All along the Friendship Highway, I passed by road crews. Many live in small compounds for weeks or months until the work on that section of road is finished.

Nights are cold and long and even Himalayan road crews need a hobby. These are the piled empty bottles of Lhasa Beer, a small mountain in its own right.
